We just love Mike and Allie, husband and wife team behind Island Photography. They are one of the Outer Banks most-requested wedding photographers primarily because their work is outstanding. But also because they are just so much fun!
They are both photographers that have worked together for 12 years. Which means brides get both male and female perspective, two for one. They focus on the candids and capturing the moments of your wedding. And they release the images to their clisnts, copyrights and all, within a month of the wedding.
Come visit them at the Salon. And check out their photo gallery!

Coastal Cookies is a home-based business established in 2005, originally named Claudia’s Cookies.
Claudia creates buttery-rich sugar cookies, lovingly made from scratch using the finest ingredients, each cookie meticulously hand-decorated with royal icing. Her cookies have no preservatives and are best eaten within 2-4 weeks.
She is located on beautiful Roanoke Island near the soundside in Mother Vineyard, home of the centuries old mother vine of our native scuppernong grapes.
The ingredients for our cookie recipe include butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, flour, salt and baking powder. For the royal icing we use confectioners’ sugar, meringue powder, vanilla and lemon extracts, gel paste (food colorings), purified island water and fresh salt air.
She will provide her scrumptious cookies for brides on our event venue tours. You can Claudia at (252) 423-2071 or email her at coastalcookies@embarqmail.com.
The Pearl Restaurant is located on the Ocean Front in Kill Devil Hills North Carolina and specializes in local ingredients with a French twist. Being the only remaining true ocean front location on the Outer Banks, The Pearl is a popular destination for locals and visitors. The cuisine has strong French influence with an emphasis on ingredients from local farms and waters.
Tucked away in the Historic Sea Ranch Hotel , guests are delighted to discover this hidden gem with its outstanding ocean views and tranquil, beautiful ambiance.
The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, and has regular live entertainment. The location is the perfect setting for weddings on the beach, receptions, large family gatherings and especially the perfect dinner for two.
The Pearl will be a featured stop on the Salon’s event venue tour of the Central Beaches.

Kim, Wes and Eric hosted our very first Salon Vendor Blender on August 27 at the Stetson’s Bayou Bungalow on Roanoke Island. With a New Orleans Cajun theme at work, the weather cooperated with winds and rains from what was left of Tropical Storm Fay. But us Outer Bankers are used to it, and the party went off without a hitch!
Everyone who attended is so excited about the Salon weekend! This is a fantastic group of people who love weddings and the Outer Banks. Needeless to say, there was lots of laughter, music, food, and drink to accompany the comraderie.
Special Thanks to:
- Metro Rentals who provided the tent that kept us dry.
- Holiday House Flowers for the beautiful centerpieces and Cajun shrimp.
- Argyle’s Restaurant and Catering, Just Desserts, and Blue Ocean Events for the delicious side dishes.
